With the media blitz to railroad Sam out of town, it looked like he didn’t have any support. But, this morning, news stories began showing up that illustrate he may have a lot more support than the press initially wanted us to think.
I’ve been running around twitter trying to see how many local tweeps wanted to express their support for Sam. Until an investigation proves otherwise. He lied to the press about consensual sex with an adult, and I do not feel that means he should resign. Every one of these locals has sent me an “@” reply on twitter expressing the same sentiment, regardless of their feelings about his lying or his judgement in having the relationship. One of the most important things you can do is send a message to Sam via the city’s website telling him he still has support and that he shouldn’t submit to bullying from the press.
Portland is all about the people having a voice, not just the big, profit-driven media outlets. Let’s see what the people have to say!
